WHO WE ARE
In the late 1800’s our GREAT GREAt, GREat, GReat, Grandparents John and Susana Cosley placed their marker on one hundred acres of land in spectacular Laurel Highlands on the tranquil Laurel Hill Creek.  Over the years parcels of the property were divided and either given or purchased by members of our family.  In 1956 John and Mary Benyak purchased the majority of the Cosley homestead from Aunt Verna Cosley who did not own it! Yep, you read that correctly, as a title search 30 years later revealed that the original property was to pass to the last surviving Cosley child Margaret as Verna preceded her in death. By 1980, the title was cleared by all the Cosley heirs and process began to “grow more than corn.” Cabins and houses were built for executive farming and to enjoy the peaceful landscape and rural life away from the city life mostly on weekends. Several cabins have since been taken down and as our families grew, so have the houses that now occupy the original homestead.   The original family farmhouse was purchased and returned to the homestead, and it remains today a museum of rural life. We are in the midst of restoring the original Cosley farmhouse to include electricity and plumbing.  In mid-2024, we will pay homage to our family and are thrilled to announce we will re-open the original house, now named, The Cosley Museum for visitors to enjoy the history of our family.
Our roots remain in the tranquil mountains of western Pennsylvania, and we cherish our weekends and holidays there, however we moved east for jobs and found the historic town of Annapolis, Maryland as our new home.  Now, we share our homes in both locations for other families to enjoy a little bit of our heaven.
